Gerald Genta

watch Gerald Genta

Gerald Genta is a famous Swiss watchmaker. He has been called the creator of the world’s most complicated (and expensive) wristwatches. He had an incredibly long and rewarding career in the watchmaking industry that inspires new watchmakers. He died in 2011 at the age of 80 and truly hasn’t been forgotten. He left his legacy in his watches.

Gerald Genta had a self-titled company that produced his own designs of wristwatches. Besides that he also worked with many highly-esteemed brands creating watch designs. These brands include IWC, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and several more. Genta was born in Geneva and attended a local jewelry and goldsmith school where he earned a Swiss federal diploma. Shortly after finishing school his talent was recognized by Universal Geneve SA. This manufacturer was one of the most popular makers of chronograph varietals. Genta designed the Polerouter Microtors and White and Golden Shadows in the 1950’s for this company. He moved on to working with other notable brands creating watches such as Omega’s Constellation, Patek Philippe’s Golden Ellipse, and Cartier’s Pasha de Cartier, among many others.

Gerald Genta’s own line of watches include famous models such as the Arena, the Retro, and infamous Perpetual Calendar. These are some of the finest luxury watches ever produced with prices averaging $70,000. Gerald Genta watches are rare, fine works of mechanical art. They are superior to all other wristwatches. If you are a serious collector looking for a new addition to spice up your collection consider adding a Gerald Genta wristwatch.
