Three New IWC Boutique Exclusives

Three New IWC Boutique Exclusives

IWC has recently rolled out their boutique exclusives this year (if you haven’t noticed, the they seem to do this every year). The brand has fallen in love with red gold this time around, and they’ve done some really interesting things with its soft red hue.

One of these watches is the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar. Not only is its 42.6-millimeter case made of red gold, but the dial, the outlines of the five minute markers, the crown, the hands, and the clasp to the strap are also red gold. Sounds like way too much pink, right? Wrong. IWC has somehow managed to pull this off. The watch looks great. It’s great on the inside, too. It has an in-house movement, the caliber 51614, with a seven-day power supply.

The next boutique watch is a manually wound piece with a lot less red gold. The dial of the IWC Portuguese Hand-Wound is white and the watch has red gold hands, numerals, case, crown, and clasp. The chronograph at the six o’clock position is slightly silvered, creating a nice contrast between it and the white of the rest of the dial. Overall, the watch has a very clean, chic look.

The third new boutique-only timepiece is another automatic caliber (80111). The shiny brown dial on the IWC Ingenieur Boutique Edition really goes with the red gold here. It contrasts beautifully with the red gold five-minute markers, almost making them appear to be floating. The hands are also red gold, with a red tip on the second hand. Aside from the minute markers and a small date window at three o’clock, the dial is relatively plain, but with that soft brown shine, “plain” doesn’t have to mean boring.

All of these watches are available at an IWC boutique near you. They are all limited edition, all beautiful, and all excellent watches.
